Its a very cool little mod.

"Is it possible that I am feeling the gears a little bit in first and second?  I was a leetle afraid that maybe it is just a tiny bit too high- but I am probably dreaming."

If it feels like it isn't going into first gear quite as smootly as it was before you should adjust the stop or if you are nervous about it adjust it down slightly. You will need to loosen the nut (counter clockwise) then spin the whole stop itself clockwise a turn or two the re-righten the nut against the washer. I did it all finger tight so you wouldn't need any tools to adjust it.
