Communal Bathing..3
This spring has brought us New England type weather. Their motto is "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute." Last Friday everyone was out getting sunburned and the very next day it snowed. This weekend, tax weekend, was anybody's guess.
It was going to be cloudy with SOME showers on Saturday, but rain all day Sunday. I think that is how we got
Mick, who was supposed to go to the shore. Thank the Z3 gods. Mick's parents (name protected to hide my stash!)

offered their driveway for all of us to wash the babies, and
Mick had a route planned out for a little twisting and shouting after the fact. All was well.
Emmy barely started. It was raining lightly, which was a blessing because the crap on my windshield got a little loosened by the water before I reluctantly used the washer fluid and wipers.
Mapquest said the best route was through the Battery tunnel but I had settled on taking the Brooklyn bridge. Bridges are much nicer than city tunnels in a rag top. I checked the traffic report, no traffic on any route out of town. I guess "no traffic" means only a half hour wait :(.
Even so, it was wonderful. I love the hell out of this car. We were out, the weather was mild, even on a nearly empty tank at low speeds her lovely engine purred. The dirt on her paint served as camouflage, with other drivers now a little uncertain about cutting me off. "Maybe she don't care about her car, look how dirty it is... maybe she won't back off." I could hear them in my head saying that. Just before I hit the Verazzano I dropped the top, since it has to be raining pretty hard to hit me when I am moving.
Once again, an SFV (sport futility vehicle) in the left lane of an otherwise empty 8 lane divided highway nearly drove into me in the middle lane for no apparent reason.
One of these days I really am going to get out of my car, drag them out of their Canyonero and physically beat them. Well, I hope not. Anyway, not today.
I was 3 blocks away from
Mick's gracious parent's home when I was going slow enough for the rain to matter. Turns out we were having Sunday's forecast on Saturday :(
Still, I was the only one to arrive top down.

OK these guys are spoiled, out driving every lovely spring day top down, I guess they can afford to be choosy.
Mick and Rita have scoped out every single Z3 on Staten Island.
