The clock on the Met Life tower says it's 420pm, but it's getting dark. It's not 420pm anymore.

People are beginning to realize they are not going to get anywhere. They start to hang out in the square.
I get out my candles and my battery-powered radio and my telephone that doesn't require AC power and look at the courtyard of my building and see my neighbors doing the same.

There's not so many of us in the building, lots of folks summer elsewhere, but it's nice to see who is in by candlelight. On the other hand, it's kinda scary because candles mean FIRE. Fire in a high-rise during a power outage can be an ugly thing. I can see lights on the NYU dorms, and coming up from the courtyard, that's Beth Israel Hospital below.
At this point I realize I have already lost track of time, without a watch all the clocks inside and outside the house have died, I start to keep a journal.
I collected and tested batteries and devices- my old camping equipment failed even with new batteries. I worry about the food in the fridge- but I'm happy that I am stocked up.
That damn drummer is out there, as if we need his noise!
1010WINS went off the air just before the Bloomberg conference, it was just after 4pm when the AC went out- I forgot to start a clock. I'm waiting for the radio to tell me what time it is.
