Thanksgiving 98
I am sick because of what happened at Manhattan BMW today. I went to pick up my fabulous, perfect, Õ97 2.8 Z3 and found it somewhat dismantled and badly dinged and scratched. The service people were as horrified as I was, except the service manager, Paul Gagliardi, who was a beast.
Specifically, the car went in for a brake fluid leak, the ABS was cracked. The car had just been perfectly detailed at another dealer, so I have digital pictures of it before it went to Manhattan. I went to Manhattan because it was now the closest place, and with brake problems I had no choice.
When I picked it up, I found a large piece of plastic in the trunk, part number 8-397-163-03, and the trim around the driver door handle was lying on the seat. Then I saw the big ding and the scratches in the door handle area and I was just stunned. I took digital pictures of the damage. They called up the service people who had worked on the car and they said they were confused too, someone had told them to fix the ding, and then someone else had told them not to fix it. No one knew why the door was not put together properly. My service rep, David Persad, showed up around then and he was very helpful, he asked what I wanted them to do to make it right. The service manager was there and I said to him, "Tell me you are going to fix it like new". He said to me in a threatening manner, "I am not going to tell you anything." No one offered me a car to drive to go visit my family over the long weekend.

By December 3rd, I had Emmy back
and it was 68 degrees and fabulous. All over South East Pennsylvania, top down, all day all night. Drove for 10 hours today. Esmerelda was perfection. Going through small towns all lit up for Christmas, driving under the lights strung across the streets in Frenchtown was a dream. Was debating using sun creme 'cause my
face was getting burned by the HOT SUN!
