| Whalen Z3 Accident Message Title: My son Eric had a boo-boo last night... Posted by: Doug W. on 2003-04-12 at 19:13:14 Message: He slid sideways around a curve, then up a steep grassy hill, getting some air, and rolling the car at least once, maybe more than once. Also took out a few shrubs, and came to rest upside-down in the grass, next to a golf course tee box. (no, I don't know which hole!) Fortunately, he and his friend Ben had their seatbelts on (I guess I've been able to teach him SOMETHING, after all!). Ben ended up just a bit stiff and sore. Eric was beat up in the face and arms by the windshield a little bit, and had a couple lacerations in his left arm; I think he needed a total of fifteen stitches in his arm. One bit of good luck is that they just missed hitting a telephone pole during their sideways journey. The car actually looks worse than the pic would lead you to believe; the trunk lid is the only smooth surface, I think! Keep in mind that Eric, though skinny as a rail, like his father, is 6'3", and still didn't receive a head injury, save for the slap in the face by the windshield. Roll hoops are GREAT!!!!!! Both were VERY fortunate not to have been killed; the pics don't do justice to the damage at all. Be careful out there! Doug
