That's because she has the BMW version which is the same as the one I have. Hers didn't come with the changer wiring. Mine did.

I ordered from Abt Electronics in IL. It was a special price. $877.20 delivered.
I received it today but is was the red display instead of the amber.
They don't have any amber ones in stock. They will order me an amber one and replace it for the same price. I pay shipping to return it.
I dealt with Erick Suarez 1-888-228-5800.

My replacement TP showed up today.
The first one I received was a red display instead of the amber display ordered. The red display was marked on the box. The one I received today wasn't marked.
So the quickest way to check was to install the removable display in my coupe. It's amber. You can move the display from radio to radio. You have to enter the code for the radio you install it on. The amber display doesn't match the BMW color but it is easily read.
Since ordering this unit from Abt for $877.20 delivered, I've learned a few things.
Crutchfield is selling them for $799.00.
You can purchase the BMW color display for $300.00 or $350.00 depending on who you ask.
The Landrover TP controls an I-bus changer. So it's thought that you could purchase the Landover TP and a BMW display and come up with what most of us want. Why can't they just package it this way?

My GUESS is no. My BMW display didn't when used on a HK TP. The color matched though.

I asked someone that has one and he said that it lights up reading Becker.
Reverse light wiring

Part of the HK TP install is to run a wire to the reverse light wiring. I was told that this is for when you are in a tunnel (no satelite signal) and back up it will keep track. Was also told that hooking up this wire was not necessary.
Today I tried doing an initial calibration on my 318 ti with the reverse wire unhooked. Calibration went fine.
So for people not into wiring, this point makes it more of a plug and play.

What is involved in getting the BMW faceplate? Price? Lead time? Any functional problems (I don't believe there are any from reading your posts)?
Thanks,

Calibration drive

You do not have to be in a mapped area to initially do this.
Assuming that you have satelite signal it may take a long time for you to get a fix. It takes 15 minutes in my garage for a 2 satelite read. The more satelites the quicker it works.
Do not assume it's not working like I did on my first one.
Changer and phone kit

Called the HK number 1-516-921-8776 to order a 7860 changer.
They know the numbers of what goes with what.
They transferred me to parts guy Burl. Burl direct is 1-888-423-3537 ext. 1209.
The CD changer plugs into the back of the Traffic Pro head unit connector C2 and C3. The phone input, if you decide to add this, uses connector C3 pins 13 and 14. Pins 13 and 14 are not in the CD changer cable connector C3.
They sell a kit to do this which is part number 1319.116-276. I assume that it is just a couple of pins. Will post a pic of it Monday when it shows up.
They also offer a refurbished CDC3 changer that was used in Porsche.
The 7860 doesn't remember where it left off when you shut it off if I remember right. Curious about solving this is why I purchased the 7860 one.

Ron,

Here is a pic of the cable you ordered. It's the bottom cable in the picture. The connector is unattached. I don't think you will need this connector as I'm pretty sure the changer cable already comes with this connector. Pin 13 and Pin 14 end in a RCA connector. Pin 18, 19 and 20 end in 2 RCA connectors for the aux input.

I ended up inserting the 2 pin wire/single RCA connector into pin 13 and 14 of the Phatbox cable connector. I then cut the Motorola speaker cable and connected the ends to a male RCA connector. Plugged the male and female RCA connectors together and the TP w/phone works great.

Note- You don't hear cell phone conversations through all the speakers, in my case just via the right mid/high in the door.

>>>>OK.

>>>>Yes it does but with no pins in the 13 and 14 position.

Pin 13 and Pin 14 end in a RCA connector. Pin 18, 19 and 20 end in 2 RCA connectors for the aux input.
>>>OK. I could have just busted up the yellow connector for the pins.
Will call Burl tommorrow to see if he will sell me just the pins and/or a pin removal tool.

I ended up inserting the 2 pin wire/single RCA connector into pin 13 and 14 of the Phatbox cable connector.
>>>Not familar with this. Does this connector plug into the back of the TP connector C3???
I then cut the Motorola speaker cable and connected the ends to a male RCA connector. Plugged the male and female RCA connectors together and the TP w/phone works great.
>>>My motorola speaker cable goes to connector C3 pins 13 and 14 at the back of the TP.

Note- You don't hear cell phone conversations through all the speakers, in my case just via the right mid/high in the door.
>>>Why's that? In my coupe I can adjust the TP phone output left/right, front/back or any combination of. I have mine set to full front, full right.
