NY State Run-November 10!!!!
General rule for drives is that is has to be 45 degrees or above and dry.
Here's a place to check for weather forecast for furthest reach of the drive:

We had great weather for the Millenium Drive last year first weekend in November, small animal and virgin sacrifices assured our fine weather.
This is the last time we can run this run, before gambling takes over our beloved Catskills, and these roads become too populated to run. This is it. The End and the Beginning of a New Millenium, and things will never be the same again.
Many thanks to JonT and Mario for their wonderful photos for this site!
Nov 8 update:
Just got a note from Brent (THANK YOU!) reminding me that this Monday is Veteran's Day- so now I will officially change the Vampire Dress Code to Patriotic Dress in honor of our Veterans.

****Meet at 9am***
Ready to ROLL by 10am with FULL TANK, PACKED LUNCH and EMPTY BLADDER at

New Jersey High Point State Park, at the Monument

The inscription on the monument was surprisingly apropos for the day

Thank you Betty ///M for my Flag!

Danny and Nancy brought Isabeau from Massachusettes by way of a night in Danbury, Wayne and Ginger joined us from Long Island and Manhattan respectively.
Thank you for coming!

Mario's track prepared 1.9 sporting elegant flag wear hand made by Skin Mechanic
These magnetic items looked incredible up close

Mario writes:
I was the only one representing the 1.9L contigent at the ride and I must say that the 1.9 did us proud. I cant believe how fast the car has become since doing all those intake mods over the last few months. The 1.9 had no problems keeping up with the 2.8s, but it did require the car to be kept in the 3/4K+ powerband. On the other hand, maybe everyone was just being polite and keeping their speed down to accomodate me - hhmmm

Uh, no, Mario. ;)

Mario's new Momo wheel makes his car look like a real race prepared vehicle. Very sharp, matching the chrome short shifter as well.

on to Hawk's Nest

Mario writes:
The roads were filled with twists and turns and we all had a great time.

Mario writes:
One of my favorite parts of the ride was when I was following Rachel on a very twisty section of RT94 north called the hawks or eagles nest. I got off one pic with the digicam before Rachel took off like bat out of hell with the roar of her twin tip supersprint echoing of the cliff walls to our right.

Mario writes:
I threw the digicam into the passenger seat, downshifted and nailed it, making my single oval tip scream at the top of its lungs, joining Rachels roar echoing of the cliff wall.
A duet supersprints, singing in tandem as loudest they can, what a beautiful concert it was.

and on to Roebling Bridge

We got an inspiration by the rudimentary facilities. Let's give the passengers the wheel of Jon's and Mario's cars so they can shoot pictures of all the cars in the bridge.

Danny (Z3 Husband) is ready, Nancy at the wheel of Isabeau

Wayne had to put one more coat of silver nail polish on Ginger....
They tried to get that polish bottle put away, but we got 'em!

Ginger says, "Oh Wayne honey, do you know how to drive a manual, or should I come drive Mario's car for you!!

Wayne is set in Mario's car while Danny drives JonT's
I believe the weight limit on the bridge precludes the larger cars from pulling this stunt off...

the Z3 Macarena

Fort Delaware for picnic lunch

Jon is eating only red food today....

Rachel gets lost a lot...

Which is often a good thing...

Wayne and Ginger split, and then there were four...

Mario writes:
Ohh and then the twisty roads near seven lakes drive -wow wow wow.
Watching Z3s stir and blow up leaves, simply a sight to behold
The leaves, the colors awesome.

Seven lakes Drive

Climbing up Mount Perkins for a Hudson River Valley Shot

back to Bear Mountain Lodge
Easy access to I 87 and Palisades Parkway

A great day and a great drive, capped off with a nice dinner with great friends at the Bear Montain Park Lodge where the atmosphere was made even more interesting by flickering lights.
Thank you Rachel!!
Mario

After dinner we watched videos on Mario's laptop of histrack runs at Limerock and Watkins Glen in the dark.
The George Washington Bridge swept me home with arms lit up like Christmas trees.
Yes, this will have to hold me over the winter. What a great day, thank you everyone!
