Day Three- 1/4 Lap of America Taleisin I highly recommend you play this MP3 file while you browse the interior shots of Taliesin. (I assume that everyone already has bought the CD or the album. If not, go buy it! ;D )  Back into the Main House. In this room you cover your shoes with blue paper peds. One man's shoes were too large for the peds. He's roaming the house in socks with peds.  Down the hall...  ...into the great Living Room/Dining Room.  Dave displays his technique.  This is a music stand for a quartet to accompany the piano you see near.      A rich assortment of fabrics. Between the armchairs, small tables meant to serve many purposes. The floors had many small round holes from the high heeled shoes of guests. I hadn't noticed the floors change from stone to wood. Look at the ceiling.  Ubiquitous Taliesin table lamps. The far one is built into the table.  The far wall in gold leaf. Margaret says this was Mrs. Wright's choice.  More gold leaf and blue paper peds.  The piŽce de resistance. Mrs. Wright's catwalk- but we're not allowed to go out there in the rain.  Back down the hallway.   In intimate area by the front door.  The blue room. Pie piece stools tuck under a round table. Barrel chairs at the far end. Margaret says this is one of the largest oriental carpets, and that FLW cut it to accommodate the column you see at the far end.  |
