I would like to thank you for the t shirts and the support you are
giving all of us here in Iraq. With all of the negative things the
press is putting out about us over here it is nice to know we still
have the support. Despite what the press is feeding the average American.
I am a member of the National Guard at home. My civilian job is with
a fire department. Even though I do not live in Washington D.C. or
New York we all still felt the impact that was left on 9/11. I like,
like most of the guys here still understand why we are here. Once
again I would like to thank you and everyone at the ladder company
for the t shirts and support.

Your words mean a lot to me and a lot of other people. The only news
I see is CNN. We call that the anti bush channel. I get the rest of
my news from the internet. Those of us here at the fire dept are a
from Wyoming, Pennsylvania, New York, and I am with a small group
from Kansas. We are all in aggrement with why we are over her. People
keep talking about there is no WMD's. I have talked to the Iraqi fire
chief here. As much as it is hard to understand him he said that things
were so much worst before we got here. Now the firefighters are getting
paid, good training (courtsey of the U.S. Air Force) and the gear
to do their jobs. It makes me feel real good that we are helping them
out.
As for the events that took place on 9/11. My brother was a truck
driver. He told me with the little time he spent in the area of the
country you live in. He said peoples patriotism has went out the window.
He told me that a lot of people have allready forgot what happened.
I am not sure if that is true or not. I really hope that is not the
case. The day the attacks happen, I was actually working at my old
job. I was working in law enforcement. At that time I was also in
the Army National Guard. I got the call after the second plane hit
to report to my unit. Talk about driving home lights and sirens. I
got my gear together and was on guard duty for a few days. People
were freaking out. It was a bad day for all of us.
I am happy you wrote back. It is great to get words of support from
someone I don't know. That gives me a lot of confidence in what I
do and for my bosses. Despite what the media says or what the politicians
say. I believe we are doing the right thing.
I have inserted a picture of myself. Thank you for your support.
