April 5, 2003 the iZ3
BMW Club sends a banner to support the troops in Iraq.

April 28, 2003 Fleet Hospital Three
gets our
message. |
September 23, 2003 Anthony Capano of Fleet
Hospital Three comes to visit Ladder 20 wearing a memorial
t shirt. |
Ladder 20 (help me with name) is very happy to show Anthony around.
|
|
Ladder 20 is competing in the Tribeca Cook Off when Anthony
presents a Fleet Hospital Three t shirt to the FDNY lads.
See recipe here.
|
|
Best gift is having Anthony home- but the t shirt rocks too! |
By Thanksgiving
2003 we have shipped out 140
new (and also a collection of donated used) FDNY t shirts to the
118th Area Support Medical Battalion-
Connecticut National Guard
|
April 14, 2004-
To make a total of 343 t shirts representing the 343 FDNY firefighters
lost on 9/11 we send the remaining
Ladder 20 t shirts to a unit we can not yet name in Iraq.
|
The USPS packages
begin to arrive in Iraq.
|
These smiling
faces mean everything to us.
|
Incredibly,
it turns out that in this unit in Iraq are two FDNY firefighters,
one comes from the same FDNY house as a new transfer to Ladder
20.
|
We ambushed
the new transfer at Ladder 20 with a letter from his FDNY chum
who has just received his Ladder 20 t shirt in Iraq.
|
More happy faces
holding pictures of happy faces. All these people deserve something
to smile about, and now they have each other.
|
By way of celebration
my Ladder 20 t shirt is stripped off to reveal the Fleet Hospital
Three t shirt from 2003.
|
Tom replies
to Craig using a Ladder 20 vehicle
as his desk.
|
|
And then this
happens... it's too amazing.
|
These troops
have assembled in uniform for us, and have revealed their Ladder
20 t shirts under their fatigues.
|
As if these
people were not already doing enough for us.
|
This is a picture
of amazing inexplicable beauty.
|
George and the
firefighters at Ladder 20 and all of the FDNY are ecstatic that
these troops really got their message.
|
If you ever
have any doubt about who supports you and remembers your sacrifices,
know well that you are the heroes of heroes- forever.
|

the Scenes
|
The men (and
"20" the fire dog) of Ladder 20 support the troops and thank you
VERY much for everything including these amazing photos.
|
One of the men
in this famous photo from Ground Zero was stationed at Ladder
20. I need help with name.
|
The man on the
left is a Captain from Ladder 20 I need help with name.
|
You "met" Captain
Weldon from Ladder 20 here seated with the men of Ladder
3 while serving as Battalion leader that day.
|
April 15, 2004
visit from the U.S.S. Seattle.
They gave Ladder 20 this flag, Ladder 20 gave them... t shirts!
More info coming. |
|
And so you see now that we will be here
sending shirts and support to the troops as long as they are serving
in Iraq and Afghanistan to keep us safe, knowing that by drawing
the fire over there they are saving lives over here.
There are no words to say how grateful we are. |
