About this point Ed was feeling a bit peckish, so I stopped a police van and asked for directions to Gray's Papaya. (I didn't want Ed eating from a hot dog cart in Times Square after midnight).

The officers offered us a ride when they heard that Ed was a Texas State Trooper. I have never been in the back of a NYPD police car before, and I assure you this is the ONLY way I would like to go there!!!
