Neither of us got the trunk of the 1 Series convertible- hopefully
someone will get a pic of the trunk with the top down. so this is
a placeholder - hopefully JonT will get a pic of the trunk interior
with the top down. |

6 Series convertible. Very nice, as last year. Both years the top
was down. I can't find a picture of the top UP on the 650i, on the
BMWUSA site. So just how bad does it look with the top up? |

Again, I missed this part of the tour- sorry! |

OK so I guess its hard for BMW to make space in the trunk with a
convertible hard top- but it's been done- by BMW and others. |

2007 335i convertible hardtop (top down). Looks like the back seats
fold down as well. |

2007 Miata Convertible (Soft Top)- even last year's Miata had a
nice big trunk, so its not a big deal in a 6 series BMW in 2008...

2007 Eos Convertible Hard Top- and it has more room in the trunk
than the 2008 M3. C'mon BMW... |
IMG_0661
BMW X6- missed this part of the tour, but BMW's sign says its the
only "Sports Actvity Coupe... no é... and apparently
they have trademarked the term.. so I guess that way it will remain
the only one... whatever that is. |

Hey c'mon, its an SUV folks. A nice one, with styling more like
a Porsche Cayenne. Porsche just calls their SUV a "Cayenne"
and we all get it. Try that please, BMW, instead of making up new
words. |

Respect for heritage. This was a theme for the marques I checked,
and makes the same point I made last year. Again, apparently the
car makers, including BMW, got a clue since last year. There has
to be a good reason to dump styling and ergonomics in car- not just
to make it "new". Kind of like having a good reason to
make a classic film. I said it before and I will say it again- I
respect BMW for trying new things -even when they are unpopular-
but I am even more impressed when they see what's not working and
move on to what does. |
IMG_0664
Last year BMW presented ZERO new concepts. This year BMW brought
out MANY new concepts. |
IMG_0665
BMW "Advanced Diesel". At least they are trying. |
